Formula One racing Sage ERP X3

    The problem

Before investing in Sage ERP X3, the Marussia F1 team used a number of different IT systems in different departments. That meant hard copies of information were passed around the business and it lacked any kind of integrated processes.

As they brought different areas of their business together and took on more people, they needed more joined-up processes and data.

So they decided to invest in a centralised ERP solution that could look after the entire lifecycle of the thousands of parts that they deal with, whilst integrating core business functions and helping to streamline operations.

    How Sage ERP X3 helped

Marussia F1 Team issued Sage with a challenge - get us up and running on Sage ERP X3 before the start of the race season, and that's what we did.

Sage ERP X3 is used throughout the whole of the Marussia F1 team, integrating every aspect of their business from finance and purchasing; inspection control to stock, works orders and batch and serial numbers.

Production and engineering teams use ERP X3 to pick the parts used to build the race cars and track inspection and quality control. The whole team can keep track of spare parts as they travel with the race team around the world, ensuring that the right parts are in the right place at the right time.

As Sage ERP X3 is web based, it's an ideal solution for a team that is on the move for the entire race season. It gives the team in the UK and on the move access to race critical information.

Sharing information and automating complex processes now helps different departments work together more efficiently.

"Sage ERP X3 is mission critical. Without it, the car doesn't race. It's not like we can get the parts next week. The race dates don't change."

    Sage

    Manufacturing Sage ERP X3

    The problem

Satellite Industries needed to integrate their sales and marketing processes, streamline operations and provide timely access to information.

Satellite's extensive customer environment was scattered across multiple systems. This resulted in re-keying of data, paper-based backups and an overall lack of cohesiveness in accessing information when talking to or meeting with customers.

With 15 global offices and more than 4,000 customers in 75 countries, this was making it difficult to effectively respond to customer inquiries and needs.

    How Sage ERP X3 helped

Satellite chose Sage ERP X3 because it was important to effectively collaborate with their suppliers and provide complete supply chain visibility and control.

As Sage ERP X3 includes a CRM module as standard, Satellite could fully integrate their front- and back-office functions. This stopped the re-keying of data and helped them share data across their global organisation.

Satellite's system also allows them to include their business partners as remote Sage ERP X3 users. Working in a secured, collaborative environment, this allows users to access data at any location, safely.
