Newcastle, Thursday 2nd December 2010 - Sage UK today confirmed Brendan Flattery's appointment as CEO, Sage UK. The news follows yesterday's presentation of Sage Group's strong preliminary results and new organisation structure that sees Paul Stobart, Executive Director, and currently CEO of Sage UK and Ireland, becoming CEO of Sage Northern Europe. Both new roles will come into effect on January 1st 2011.
Brendan brings a wide and deep knowledge of the UK business, having joined Sage in 2003 and worked closely with Paul and the management team. Over the last seven years, Brendan has been Managing Director for the Accountants Division, Managing Director for the Mid Market Division and is currently Managing Director for the Small Business Division.
At Sage, we believe strongly in managing talent and developing great leaders across the business that inspire, motivate, lead by example and empower their teams to be the best they can be. Brendan's appointment as UK CEO represents a new generation of leadership for the UK business and I look forward to supporting him in this exciting new chapter for Sage UK," explained Paul Stobart.
In his new role as CEO, Sage Northern Europe, Paul Stobart will be responsible for the new multi-country region, which includes the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland. A key driver for the European reorganisation is to enable better collaboration and more easily share synergies across all of Europe in areas such as global products, technology platforms, product marketing and branding. Paul Stobart joined Sage in 1996 and became CEO of the UK and Ireland Region for the Sage Group in 2003.
