As a leading software company in your market, I would like to know why years (maybe a decade or two) down the line, your programmers can not design standard reports within Sage Accounts based on GAAP principles which has been around every longer? Sage 50 in great but where is the simple changes to keep in line with GAAP etc, thus help business owner/s understanding and managing their business on financial report produced monthly and not only wait for auditors to confirm it annually? Surely in today’s difficult economic environment live information is better than historical information.

Thank you for your feedback. I work on our Sage 50 Accounts software and I’m always consulting with our customers to see how we can develop our software to meet their changing needs. We also work closely with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and with The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) to ensure our software is compliant with legislation in the UK and Ireland.

You’re right; understanding business performance is incredibly important so we’ve made sure that Sage 50 Accounts customers can see real time information on how their business is performing as well as a snapshot of their cash flow. Using these features means that there is no need to wait monthly, or even annually, to get a true picture of your business.

We’re always pleased to hear from our customers and get their feedback. In fact, we have a Wishlist that you can add suggestions to (https://support.sage.co.uk/default.aspx?page=568&tab=2&accordion=1) , and these suggestions help us to develop our software.
