Purley2Alpe d’Huez by pedal power seemed unbelievable when our riders set off last Thursday morning. Well now they’re back, they’ve raised thousands for Cancer Research UK and we’re all unbelievably proud of their achievement.
The 29 cyclists have now raised a staggering £18,000+ for charity and if you’re inspired by their fantastic achievement there’s still time to donate.
Sage UKI CEO Brendan Flattery says: “We’re all incredibly proud of the riders. They’ve raised over £18,000 for Cancer Research UK, our chosen charity for this year and it’s a brilliant start to our Sage Day fundraising marathon.“I would like to personally congratulate each and every one of the riders for their tremendous achievement and to say an extra special thank you to Graeme Houghton, Colin Edgar and Leigh Thompson who have done a brilliant job of organising the whole event.
29 riders set off last Thursday morning from our Purley office for the ride to Paris. 16 of them then continued on to Alpe d’Huez, finishing in Grenoble on Wednesday afternoon.
After having a celebratory evening meal with people from our Grenoble office, and a well-earned rest yesterday, they flew back into the UK on Thursday.
Special thanks too to support drivers Derek Heatherington, Melvin Fletcher and James Pearcy and organising team Perry Moore, Stuart Morrison, Bridget Thirsk and Simon Hales. Thanks also to sponsors:
