Agatha Christie once said “The key to getting ahead is getting started”. While she wasn’t
speaking about Real Time Information (at least we don’t think so!), I think her message is particularly relevant to it.
One thing we’ve learned from the thousands of our customers on the RTI Pilot is that their head start has left them feeling well prepared and confident about April 2013 when RTI becomes mandatory.
So, it’s understandable that one of the most common questions we’ve been asked at our RTI seminars is “how can I get involved if I haven’t been part of the pilot?”
If you’ve been to one of our RTI seminars, you’ll know the key is preparation:
- preparation of your software
- preparation of the data you hold on employees
- preparation of your processes
Tip – If you are already using our software it is RTI ready.
If you have Sage 50 Payroll RTI Edition then your data preparation is easy because of the features we’ve built into the software.
That means that all you have to do is think about your internal processes. And don’t forget that we’re on hand to help you with that too.
Get an invite
Process your payroll as normal using Sage 50 Payroll RTI Edition. Then, when you ready and your software, data and processes are (there or there abouts) it’s time to ask HMRC to join the “soft launch”.
They’ll need to make some adjustments at their end to the PAYE schemes you want to submit; this should take around 10 days. You’ll then be sent a date to join.
Simply enter this date into the activate RTI in the RTI Centre within Sage 50 Payroll RTI Edition. Then on that date your payroll software will be ready to submit your data to HMRC.
We’ve been preparing for this change for quite some time. And we want to make sure we help you confident about RTI so we’re giving you lots of help prepare.
