Enter Forecasts or MPS - Detail Lines


This form allows you to enter the detail lines for a forecast or MPS.  

To enter forecasts/MPS detail lines:

Type in or use F2-Browse to select a Stock code (product).

A warning is displayed if you are entering an MPS and you select an item that is not an MPS item. You can accept this item, but the resulting schedule might contain information not related to your MPS.

  
     
  Note that you cannot add a product to your forecast or MPS that is currently 'held' or obsolete, i.e. that has the Held/Obsolete flag on the stock record ticked – the product is also excluded from the F2-Browse list.  
     
2 When you confirm the stock code, the stock status information is displayed. Amend the details as required.

A warning message is displayed if you have entered a zero quantity. Select CR to accept the zero quantity or ESC to re-enter the quantity.

If you attempt to duplicate a detail line that already exists for this forecast, a warning message is displayed informing you that a forecast with this date already exists. Select CR to combine both lines or ESC to abandon the second line.

  
     
4 Continue to enter detail lines in pages of 10 lines each until the forecast is complete. There is no restriction on the number of pages or the number of items included in a single forecast. You can:
  • Move between pages and lines – select F3-First, F7-Next or F8-Prev.
  • Move to the next blank line on a page – select F6-Next.
  • Search for a specific product within the detail lines – select F13-Search.

You can generate a schedule if your forecast demand is likely to be a regular occurrence. This allows you to enter the details of the repetitive demand.

Highlight the detail line you require, then select F4-Create.

  
     
6 When your forecast or MPS is complete, print out a copy – select F10-Print.  
     
7 Select ESC-Exit twice to leave the option.
